7. Richard Linklater
You may know this filmmaker from his popular 1993 film Dazed and Confused but what you may not realize is that this American auteur has made a lot of other films with a dedication to craft, and specifically theater that sets him apart from the vast majority of American film voices. Just look at his work on the film Tape (2001) or Before Sunrise (1995) and it’s easy to see how dedicated he is to dramaturgy.
